    Looks like this is going to be a cool build. I just got my junk inspected in PA. I havent even measured it since its moved, but its approx. 109" 39.5 Iroks w/ about 4" of lift. So it sounds like its close to what you want to do. Its stretched 6" in the rear and probably 6-8" in the front.


    Oh and leaf springs are the new coilovers for all those that dont know.

    JB Weld isn't going to hold. The plastic on fuel system parts is polypropyline...which doesn't bond with much of the adhesive out there. I've tried super glue with primer activator, JB Weld, and many other things. I'd hit up car-part.com and find one. They're not too bad, since they are the same in a ZJ, XJ, and TJ (04 or older.)

    I didn't get any pix but to start I am cutting the lip around the lower bolt so I will still have them all. But my plan is to shave it like you did, the extra clearence will prob help for my 37/39's

    I saw on NEC that you were lengenthing it out. Weren't you having problems with your front radius links? or what was the reason to go leafs? And have you had it out yet? Any problems high centering being that low and long? I love the look of it, I wish mine was even close to that far along. I considered leafs for the rear but knew I wanted coilovers up front, Being that it will still see alot of street time, and I want the preformance offroad.     It looks worse in these pics but it's just a tiny little split where the metal pulled apart so I really am hoping that some JB weld does the job.

    Selling them to help fund this money pit build. I hope to have the 44 out soon the d30 might be awhile though. Gotta get gears lockers assist and steering before I start on The front end

    You need to clean the metal a bit more before welding, the porosity in that weld is not good. What kind of welder are you using?

    Yeah I didn't clean the metal at all on any of those, that was like the 3rd weld I did. I was just stoked to be burning metal and grabbed chunks that had been cut off and were laying around. I have some pics of ones I cleaned before burning but they went on to my actual camera not the card and I can't figure out how to upload them.

    You might want to get someone who knows how to weld properly to weld your brackets on to your axle. Ask Matt if you have any questions on how that could fawk up your day.

    I am talking about the weld on your front axle that broke on you at big dogs, you said that you had someone else weld it who claimed they knew what they were doing.

    yeah I plan on only measuring, setting, and tacking the important stuff. I have a friend who is willing to do the welding.

    102" shouldnt be that big of a problem. I was at 100" just doing the rear last year. Things were close but it worked well. I started doing coils up front then just said **** it because I didnt like the way things were looking. The leafs in the front seem to work well its way more predictable (sp) then it was w/ coils. I always had XJ's and this was the first TJ and that was the one thing I hated about it. It seemed to have a mind of its own. The leafs make it more stable. Yeah I just slapped a astro box on it. It steers better now than it ever has w/ stock Jeep or AGR stuff. I know chad has been pushing his 42's w/ no problem on the stock astro box and it seem to work real well last time at RC. Next weekend will be the first real test so I will post back and let you know if the extra,extra wheel base is worth it.

    I'm not sure I'd know what to do with real doors though? I have half doors hanging on my wall that I have had for well over a year and they have been on the Jeep once for about 10 mins total. I was stoked to get them but the convience of the soft doors for everything but the interstate is awesome. They could stand to be replaced though. Shot them a pm, thanks

    Got a new fuel sending unit and hoses ran up to my parents today, tested the old JB welded one, it held, but thought it would be a ticking time bomb. So I ran to Pattersons wrecking yard to see if they had any sending units. they had 2 one full of mud and the other one with a broken slider both of which I turned down. Thinking about it I went with the new pump figured it was worth the trouble knowing it was new and shouldn't randomly fail. But the float isn't working, gauge shows below empty. Drove it down to Pittsburgh anyways. Planning on pulling the tank again Sunday morning and see if by chance I mounted it so it got hung up, can't see it being anything else. Float was moving freely before mounting.

    One of the managers at work approached me about the possibility of me renting her garage at her house down here. Haven't seen it yet but hoping it's big enough I can fit the axles and some tools in it even if the Jeep doesn't fit, just to save trips.

    A few updates from the last few weeks.
    Finally got a good fuel pump in there. Trying to save money on this has been nothing but a waste of time As a side note the Airtex from Advanced Auto are garbage, as Adam I'm sure will vouch for.

    Got a small bit of trimming done on the 14bolt


    Found a local store that carries Chasis saver and painted part of the axle just to try it out.

    Worked on stripping down the D60over the 4th, It's fighting me the whole way now. Pinion bolt wouln't budge, and this dust shield and brake bracket Will not come off (yes I took the bolts out) Steve offered to help out. So If my next attemt fails I may be lugging it back down here to get these parts off. Thankfully it's getting lighter though


    The other day they gave me an odd 4hr break at work so I decieded it was time to start making room for the stretch
    + grinder =

    I am not sure how high I need to cut this was trying to leave some for rear support but may cut it all out since my cage will be tied into my frame and the tube will be samwiched in there solid anyways. And Ignore the rats nest of wiring back there it has speaker wire and everything else hacked into it. I plan to clean it up when I put the new corners on.

    Other that that I did some hack tailpipe work to fix a snaped off end and have been cutting out all kinds of left over and cobbled together wiring. Still trying to rebuild the bank account, while keeping this thing moving forward.

    Today at some point I'm planning to replace the driveshaft u-joints if I can get the old ones out. The vibe is getting very noticable.

    Ordered up a few parts over the last week but can't find the cord to load them.
    BTF 14b truss with pinion guard is in the mail
    14b 5.13 ring and pinion is in the mail
    front d60 reman calipers, brakes, and rotors are sitting on my "workbench" (bedroom table)

    Finally got bored enough to wire in my old Alpine unit the sony one I had in there wasn't picking up mp3's any more. Also finished wiring the switch panel in the tuffy box, mounted rock lights underneath (used for quick imprompto parking lot wrenching), and finally figured out/mounted the Corbeau's so they slide/tilt and are low enough to still be usable. Although I still want to tie them into the cage eventually.

    i left most of this in there but drilled out the spot welds and bent it back at a angle to keep some structure plus i didnt want mud and rocks flying up and packing in there ..i looks pretty factory and worked well to keep that ugly crap hidden ..


    Do you think you`ll get 6" of strech with that Genright Tank ?? i still dont have a tank but i am aiming for a rear mounted fuel cell ..kinda of undecided ..

    It's showing a hair over 7" of clearence from where my factory tank skid was to where the new BTF skid is, measured off the d44. Between the Ruffstuff skid and bigger 14b I know I won't get all 7", but KirbyIV off Pirate (the guy I bought the skid from) was able to get about 6-6.5 with his 14B. And I am basing alot of my suspension build off his (xj/zj coils, front 14" coilovers through the hood, 37's and 39's)
