I had thougth about leaving it in there for about ....ohh um 5 seconds. The birds nest of wires behind it has a short/loose wire that keeps acting up with my passenger turn signal and I was tired of fishing my hand in there and blindly rattling the wires. Also I plan on tying the cage into the frame. I like to play hard when I have the oppurnituity, and having stronger axles I know I'm gonna end up putting it in some stupid places, and will need the extra support.

it's been awhile with out up-dates. I got a BTF truss for the 14b. Very beefy!!! The guy I was getting the gears from tweaked over paypal fees so I didn't end up getting my 14B gears.

Tore off the winch, winch plate, steering skid and started prepping for the front flat clock and stretch.
Took the Jeep to BDS and popped a tree not once but twice and rearranged my front fender pretty good.

    /\It's meeting a sawall tommorrow.

I went to Mf Steve and DMG's shop today. The punisher will be reusing my old 4.10 gears so Steve offered to help me tear the d60 down. That Snap-on impact is no joke, it's mean. The one hub was galled??? on all the bolts stripped so we drilled the heads off all except the one the easy out had snapped off in, we finally ended up beating and prying it till the head broke off. Calling about gears/ lockers monday morning.

I have 4 days off ?!?!, Hope to get my new boat out on the water for a few of them, and devote the rest of the time to wrenching and prepping for future parts.

I'm out playing with tools now. If I had a bender... fenders are marked and waiting to be removed. Just got to slow down and keep it legal for the popo for now

Steve try and talk that guy down I think 1.5 would work well for my new flairs

John I looked at a few of those short trail fenders looks like $120ish so far and a piece of 4" flat stock across the top, then just a random size plate for the front depending on what you want to cover up. I'm gonna have a piece of tube bent to line the wheel well should be even stronger than the normal crusher corners.

John I totally forgot to check on that radius for you, it was on one of the cad drawings that I lost. I will go check it tommorrow morning and pm you it.

I have a few random pics to upload of some random small stuff that has been done, nothing 2 exciting. I have been working way to much to get anything major accomplished and working on/spending money on the boat on the random days off since it is perfect weather to go out in... anyways.

Just a heads up Complete offroads packages for gears come with Yukon gears and Timkien bearings. I got the 5.13's install kits and a front ARB comming this week. Still undecieded on the rear locker looking at either an ARB or Detriot. Their price was by and far the best I had gotten yet and they beat other prices by a few $$$ each time + free shipping.

Also I am trying to deciede if I want to hard wire the compressor I have to actuate the ARB or if I want to just get the arb compresser with the tire pump option.

So today I set up a deal trading my old rims for a set of 36" bias Iroks not the size I want but they are free and if I did blow up my d44 like it looks like I will need tires asap so I can throw the 14B under there. Gonna really get to drag that boat anchor around till I go big.

If you didn't read my other thread, my Dana44 died on the road. I had a vibe and a slight clicking noise one night after work and the next day on the way to work/ a garage, it got worse and then gave out.

    heres the aftermath

Instead of fixing it I figured "I have half the stuff for the 14bolt swap, just get the rest and do it now" and since I got a set of tires basically for free, that will work for now, I figured I could splurge on a few extras...
So Santa brown has been visiting me every few days with more and more toys. Still have 3 or 4 packages comming hopefully by early next week. Still missing joints, tube inserts, poly bushings, adjustable upper link brackets, calipers, and my stick of tube.

Once everything shows up the Jeep is gonna make a stop at Steve and Dave's shop to get geared and locked since they have previous experience with arb's and thick gear sets. And steve has agreed to help me with rear stretch so I can get it back on the road for now till I get $$$ and the rest of the parts for the front stretch.

Also has anyone used the fabric dye from duplicolor or any of the other companies to dye a soft top? It was suggested to me since I have brand new uppers for my half doors but they are the wrong color. I am really debating doing this for the winter my soft doors suck in the snow and their windows are really scratched. I would like to run the half doors, and not look stupid with tan uppers. Would I have to mask off the windows? Tried jeepforums and jeepsunlimited searching but wasn't finding anyone who had done it with results.

I used it to go from gray to black. Worked awesome. It's the duplicolor fabric paint. You HAVE to tape off both the inside and outside of the actual window. The spray just tends to get everywhere, and the stuff is a rip to get off the clear plastic. I think I used two cans for two full soft doors.

Looks good I was searching but all the threads were old and asking if it was possible, and noone said if it actually worked. Think it will work for tan to black? I might try it either way since it was an odd color and noone seems interested in the uppers.

I would do Dynabeads or the like. My stick on weights lasted about three tire revolutions and I think regular weights would end up falling off too.

I will be getting dyna beads or equal dust for the larger tires but I don't know if its worth it for these. I only plan on running them till I finish the build and have money for a larger set. I had stick on weights on the boggers rims when I got it and they stayed I may try them for the time being.
